EAST WENATCHEE -- The Eastmont Wildcats' varsity baseball team will play a non-league contest against Mercer Island High School at Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners, next April 10.
According to Dan White, Eastmont athletic director, the team received the opportunity when Mercer Island's original opponent canceled.
"We jumped at the chance because this is a great opportunity and will be huge for baseball in the community," said White, a former Eastmont baseball coach who ranks second all-time among Washington state baseball coaches with 600 career wins.
