A southbound locomotive with 36 empty cars stuck the John Deere tractor about 11:50 a.m. as it crossed the tracks east to west at Mossy Creek Road, said Robin Chapman, a railroad spokesman.
The driver was taken to Peach Regional Medical Center for observation, Chapman said.
Peach County Sheriff Terry Deese said no one was injured in the incident. He said the crash was handled by the Georgia State Patrol.
Trooper Darryl Clark, who investigated the crash, could not be reached immediately for comment. The trooper had not yet filed a report on the crash, according to their Perry office.
