Oct 24, 2009 (The Gazette - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- CECK | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- WILLIAMSBURG It was a contrast of styles in high school football last night.

Clear Creek Amana came in with a vaunted passing offense. Williamsburg fielded an offense based on strong line play and a running attack.

The Raiders' style prevailed, running all over Clear Creek Amana and stifling the Clippers offense in a 48-7 victory at Bob Murphy Stadium.

The Raiders won their first district title since 2006.

'We wanted to get up on them early, shut the door and put them away and win District 5,' Raiders junior lineman Austin Blythe said. 'It was nice.

It was a lot of fun.' Williamsburg handled the Clippers up front on both sides of the ball. Especially on offense.

The Raiders (8-1, 7-0) rushed for 350 yards, powered by running back Cord Slaymaker, who ran for 204 yards and three touchdowns.

Slaymaker gave the Raiders a 7-0 lead when his 1-yard TD run capped the Raiders opening drive that went 72 yards on seven plays all rushes.

Slaymaker added a 1yard touchdown before ending Williamsburg's scoring with a 9-yard TD to make it 48-0 in the fourth.

'He's got great vision,' Williamsburg Coach Curt Ritchie said, noting Slaymaker's ability for improvisation at times.

'He's just elusive.' He wasn't a one man show.

Brett Waughop added 72 yards, including a 41yard touchdown run to make it 13-0.

Tyler Greiner contributed a pair of short touchdowns in the first half, helping Williamsburg lead 35-0 at the break.

The Raiders' defense, led by Blythe, swarmed and harassed Clippers quarterback Blaze Smith, sacking him seven times.

They allowed only 90 total yards.

Smith threw for 118 yards, connecting on a 55yard touchdown pass to Ted Herbert late. CCA is 6-3 overall and 5-2 in 3A-5.
