Mr Regan is currently group COO and CFO of Willis Group Holdings, an insurance broker. He joined Willis as CFO in 2006 and took on the additional responsibilities of COO in 2008.
Mr Regan will succeed Philip Scott, who will step down as executive director and CFO of Aviva at the end of 2009, after a career spanning 36 years with the group.
