Employees, faculty and students at Career Education Corporation's headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Ill., and 68 ground and three online institutions, will make monetary and in-kind donations and provide volunteer services to support global and local RMHC operations.
"We are proud to have the opportunity to provide needed resources to local Ronald McDonald Houses so that families can focus on the critical care of their children," said Gary E. McCullough, president and CEO of Career Education Corporation. "Our employees, faculty and students look forward to sharing their knowledge and skills in their communities."
After 35 years, RMHC continues to create, find and support programs for children. RMHC and its network of local chapters tailor the programs to address the most urgent needs of each community through the Ronald McDonald House(R), Ronald McDonald Family Room(R) and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile(R) programs, as well as through grants to other nonprofit organizations.
Career Education Corporation's more than 90,000 students and 12,000 employees in the U.S. represent a substantial volunteer workforce to support RMHC and the nearly 3.7 million children worldwide served every year. The company has established a number of programs with its schools to facilitate relationships and generate monetary donations for individual Ronald McDonald Houses across the U.S.
"Career Education Corporation provides not only monetary funding, but the valuable skills of CEC employees and students which help us do what we do best -- support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children," said Marty Coyne, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The sponsorship launched with a special promotion. Fourteen of the Le Cordon Bleu schools in the U.S., owned by Career Education Corporation, celebrated the release of the film "Julie & Julia" with an exclusive "Dinner and a Movie" series. Le Cordon Bleu students created and served a special movie-inspired menu and each guest attended a private screening of the movie.
More than $13,000 was raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
