Herdez Del Fuerte is a manufacturer and marketer of consumer branded food and beverages in Mexico and the US and is a joint venture between Grupo Herdez SAB de CV and Grupo KUO SAB de CV.
The venture, MegaMex Foods in Chino, California is a single entity with its own management team that furthers the existing agreement between Hormel and Herdez, producing a portfolio with starting revenue of about USD200m.
MegaMex's portfolio brands include CHI-CHI'S, HERDEZ, LAVICTORIA, EMBASA and DONA MARIA, among others, Mexican-American and mainstream Mexican foods. The venture will optimise the two parent companies' manufacturing, research and development as well as the supply chain efficiencies.
No other financial details were disclosed.
