Phoenix Nest will take over all the advertising slots of Baidu's old search listing platform then, which was formerly expected to work with the new platform simultaneously for a certain period.
Since it was launched half a year ago, Phoenix Nest has make over 70% of the old platform's customers become its own, depending on its stronger advertising network and refined management. Thus, the simultaneous operation between the two advertising systems is expected to increase Baidu's costs and restrain its advertising efficiency, according to analysts.
Analysts also believed that Phoenix Nest had somewhat contributed to Baidu's business achievements in the third quarter this year, when the Chinese company achieved operating revenue and net profit of CNY 1.2787 billion and CNY 492.9 million, surging 39.1% and 41.7% year on year respectively.
