Weis Markets appoints new CFO

Oct 27, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- WMK | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Weis Markets, a US-based supermarket chain, has promoted Scott Frost to vice president, CFO and treasurer.

Previously, Mr Frost served in this position in an acting capacity. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of the company's accounting and financial operations. He succeeds Rick Mills, who left the company in July 2009.

Mr Frost, who is a certified public accountant, joined the company in 1984 as a staff accountant after graduating from Susquehanna University. During his 25-year career, he subsequently worked as an assistant controller and controller.

Robert Weis, chairman of Weis Markets, said: "Scott brings strong professional credentials and extensive experience in the day to day financial operations of our company and our SEC compliance programs. He and the team he oversees will work in support of our company's mission to increase sales and profits and in support of our marketing/procurement, store operations, corporate distribution and manufacturing teams."
