Revenue in the third quarter fell to EUR637 million from EUR1.06 billion as revenues across divisions declined.
Still, the company said operating profit should reach a breakeven point as market conditions are improving and as the group is on track to meet its cost savings and capital expenditure control targets.
At the end of July, Eramet had said it is likely to post a current operating loss for the second half of 2009.
"A certain improvement was seen in the third quarter of 2009 on nickel and manganese markets compared with the very low levels reached in the first half of the year, but this partly results from stimulus plans, mainly in China, and from inventory movements," Chief Executive Patrick Buffet said in a statement.
