Approximately 75% of Euronet's revenues are generated from non-US operations and therefore its reported results were impacted by changes in the value of foreign currencies relative to the US dollar.
Euronet's revenues in the third quarter were USD264.8m, down from USD280.7m for the same quarter in 2008.
Operating income was USD22.1m, compared to USD18.8m in the prior year's third quarter.
Applying average foreign currency exchange rates from the third quarter 2008 to the third quarter 2009 results, the company's third quarter 2009 revenues and operating income would have been higher by approximately USD22.7m and USD3.3m, respectively.
