The contracts about the deals were signed at a Sino-Vietnamese trade fair in Hanoi City days ago, when CaoPhong agreed to be the sole agent for the products.
TCL set up its branch in Vietnam ten years ago, as the first step of its cross-border expansion. Presently, TCL is one of the top three TV makers in terms of sales in Vietnam and has set up its foothold in the local high-end TV market abreast of its Japanese, South Korean, European, and US competitors.
In the first half of 2009, the Chinese company saw its net profit jump 27.65% year on year to CNY 98.91 million, of which most came from the domestic market, said the chairman Li Dongsheng, adding that his company's overseas business is still unsatisfactory.
