Premier Foods to launch new home baking products under McDougalls brand

Oct 28, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- PRRFF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Premier Foods, a UK-based food manufacturer, is planning to introduce new items to its McDougalls home baking product range and launch a new line of Cadbury baking mixes as well, reported Talking Retail.

The company is introducing three new varieties to its McDougalls products, Whole Gold, OO Grade Plain and Supreme Sponge Flour, as part of its Specialty Flour range; two McDougalls Luxury and Savory Crumbles, Mozzarella, Basil & Black Pepper and Oaty Cheese & Chive as part of its basic mixes range.

Premier Foods is also revitalizing its Cadbury baking mixes range, said the news source. The company will re-launch a selection of new chocolate products such as Choccy Road, Triple Chocolate Brownies, Heavenly Chocolate Cake and Dairy Milk Buttons Tray Bake.

The new items will be part of the existing line of chocolate products like Chocolate Brownies, Triple Chocolate Cookies, Chocolate Muffins and Creamy White Buttons cakes.

Versha Patel, head of the sweets category for Premier Foods, was quoted by the news source as saying: "The home baking category is going from strength to strength as a result of the current economic climate. Premier Foods is committed to driving innovative product development in this category that offers quality and value for money to consumers."
