The bags, courtesy the Hoosier Motor Club, are ideal not only for candy collection -- they come adorned with safety tips for children, big and small.
Sage advice includes:
--cross only at corners,
--never cross between parked vehicles or mid-block,
--and look both ways before crossing the street.
Additional safety tips, found on informational bookmarks next to the stack of bags, let trick-or-treaters know they should walk facing traffic if there are no sidewalks, never enter a home, car or apartment building unless mom or dad says it's okay, and only go to front doors of houses of people you know, and only if the porch light is on.
The sheriff's office is at 301 N. College Ave. The main doors are just west of the corner of College and West Seventh Street.
