'Alvarion, Afina strike partnership deal in Spain, Portugal'

Oct 29, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- ALVR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Wimax equipment maker Alvarion has signed a partnership agreement with Spanish IT services and products distributor Afina. Under the terms of the deal, Afina will distribute Alvarion products across Spain and Portugal, TechWeek reports. Afina thus expands its products portfolio, by integrating Alvarion services for telecommunications operators, ISPs, corporate private networks, municipalities, utilities and residential use, with the aim of promoting the adoption of wireless broadband services in unlicensed frequencies to reduce the digital divide. Addtionally, Afina becomes an Alvarion Authorized Training Centre, to serve as official certified training centre for the company's products on the Iberia regional market. Afina and Alvarion have also designed a business plan that includes activities aimed at developing joint projects, business training, technical certification and demand generation. The partners also plant to provide network integrators with turnkey telecoms infrastructure projects, as well as facilitate the adoption of innovative technologies. The agreement also covers the development of the Alvarion customer base, and attract over 50 partners in different geographical areas of the Iberian Peninsula.
