CCECC inked a supplementary agreement with the Nigerian government on the railway between Abuja and Kaduna two days ago. The railway has a total length of 186.5 kilometers and a construction period of three years. The contract is worth about USD 850 million.
Yesterday, China Railway released its fiscal report for the third quarter of 2009, according to which its new contracts reached CNY 389.602 billion in the first three quarter, rising 80.30% from a year earlier, boosting its total orders to CNY 622.1 billion. Meanwhile, the company gained operating revenues of CNY 224.876 billion, hiking 66.17%, and net profits of CNY 3.737 billion, leaping 57.44%.
Since the beginning of 2009, the Chinese government has continued its proactive financial policy and easy monetary policy, pushing up inputs in railway construction. In the third quarter alone, China Railway signed domestic contracts worth CNY 132.253 billion, jumping 76.93%.
