US Department of Commerce Reports 3.5% GDP Growth in Q3 (GS)

GS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- 10/29/2009-The US Department of Commerce reported that the nation's economy grew at an annual pace of 3.5% during the third-quarter, vs. consensus estimates of 3.2% growth, and up from its prior reading of a 0.7% contraction. Meanwhile, the Department said that the GDP price index rose 0.8%, vs. consensus estimates of 1.3% and a previous flat reading. Wednesday, Goldman (NYSE:GS) lowered its GDP estimate from 3.0% to 2.7%, well off the mark.
