As the franchise owner of two local Domino's Pizza locations, he frequently has to hustle to keep up with the orders.
But this Saturday on Halloween, things are going to get a little crazy.
"Halloween is probably the busiest or second busiest day of the entire year for us," Ryan said. "The only other days that sometimes get busier are Super Bowl Sunday or New Year's Day."
Ryan owns Domino's locations at 110 W. Foothill Blvd. in Glendora and at 200 W. Foothill Blvd. in Azusa.
On a typical busy day Ryan said his Glendora store might sell 300 to 400 pizzas. But that number will rise dramatically come Saturday.
"It'll be closer to 700 pizzas," he said. "And we'll have 11 or 12 delivery drivers out there. Normally, we try to deliver in under 30 minutes but on that day we want to be safe. There will be lots of kids wearing costumes that can't see very well, so we'll have our drivers go slower and focus on what's going on."
And Domino's will be utilizing all of its staffing.
"It will be all hands on deck," Ryan said. "No one will be allowed to have that day off -- everyone has to work. We started preparing yesterday and getting our boxes ready because we won't have time to fold them that day."
Ryan said business will be hopping today as well.
"Schools will be having pizza parties for Halloween," he said. "And a lot of the
schools will have minimum days."
Dan Hosseini, chairman of the board of directors for Domino's Los Angeles market, said preparation plays a big role in keeping pace with customer demand on busy holidays.
"Strategy, smart hustle and an extra order of ingredients and increased staff keep the Domino's team members ready for the Halloween rush," he said. "Our teams around the country are poised and ready to deliver."
Jeremy White, editor and chief of Pizza Today magazine, said pizza sales make for a $38 billion industry.
"Halloween is one of the five busiest days," he said. "The average operation sees a 35 percent increase in sales on that night compared to a typical Saturday night."
The other busiest days are the day before Thanksgiving, Super Bowl Sunday, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, White said.
