In the following three to five years, the proportion of its international airlines to the total will likely be lifted to more than 20% from 17%.
Upon the development strategy, China will form a complete express railway network by 2020, and nearly all developed and densely populated cities can be covered. Amongst 160 domestic routes of China Southern Airlines, about 38 ones will directly rival the express railways, so the aviation front-runner is predicted to suffer the most losses.
In the third quarter of 2009, the company harvested net profit of CNY 284 million, compared with net loss of CNY 830 million in the prior year, and operating revenue increased 9.5% to CNY 15.95 billion. It separately gained net profit and earnings per share of CNY 322 million and CNY 0.05 from January to September, respectively.
