Sony settles patent dispute with Vizio over imaging technologies

SNE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Sony Corp. said Thursday it has settled a patent dispute with Vizio Inc. of the United States over imaging technologies used in televisions and personal computers.

Sony has agreed to license its patent for relevant technologies to the Irvine, California-based company, which has commanded the largest share of the U.S. flat-panel television market.

Sony filed a complaint against Vizio in October 2008, claiming that the U.S. company infringed on Sony's patent rights.
