Under the terms of a plea agreement, they will each plead guilty to bank robbery and using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, both federal felonies. It carries a minimum sentence of seven years in prison. In exchange for their guilty pleas, related charges will be dismissed.
According to court documents, the defendants moved several bank employees and at least one customer into a vault and restrained them. One of the defendants also brandished a .38 caliber revolver, the documents said. The men fled the scene, but were arrested later in the day along U.S. Highway 12.
At the time of their arrests, Louis Castillo was 25, Aldo Castillo was 22, and Buendia Reyes was 39. The Castillos are brothers, and Buendia Reyes is related to them. The men, believed to be illegal immigrants, were living in the Denver area before the robbery.
