4 Local emergency management professionals participated in a practice run Wednesday, working with Corrections Corporation of America employees to fake a disaster. The participants were the first to admit they found a few areas on which to improve. And we are happy they now have a bit of realistic -- yet pretend -- practice from which to work.
4 Downtown business owners filled the streets Friday night to pass out treats to children during Little Feet Trick or Treat. This event has become a great city event, and a great way to bring residents into our downtown. Thanks for making the night a fun one for all the little ghosts and goblins.
4 The Natchez Children's Home Service chili cook-off kept things busy Saturday afternoon. Great chili, great weather and good times filled the bluff. New additions this year included a costume contest and a few games. More than 300 people milled through the chili tents, getting their fill, we are sure.
The coming week will be an exciting one, with an important election on Tuesday. By Wednesday morning, we'll be one step closer to a new sheriff and maybe a new recreation complex. Enjoy the week, and remember to vote.
