By October 31, all of them have unveiled their third-quarter financial results. They totally took net profits of about CNY 338.6 billion in the three quarters, with a 2.15% rise year on year. They beat a year-on-year slip in net profit during the first half of the year.
Of these banks, only four suffered year-on-year declines in net profit during the three quarters. They were China CITIC Bank Corporation Ltd. (SEHK: 0998 and SHSE: 601998), Bank of Ningbo Co., Ltd. (SZSE: 002142), China Merchants Bank Co., Ltd. (CMB, SHSE: 600036, SEHK: 3968), and Huaxia Bank Co., Ltd. (SHSE: 600015).
In addition, three banks also faced year-on-year drops in net profit within the third quarter. They were CMB, Huaxia Bank, and Bank of Nanjing Co., Ltd. (SHSE: 601009).
