In the future, the BMW 7 Series will possibly be manufactured in China, assisting the German auto giant in expanding its share in the fast-growing auto market.
An executive for SAIC, located in Shanghai, east China, stressed that it was just a rumor, and declined to comment on it. A publicity executive with the Beijing office of the German auto giant also said that they had not heard of such news.
An insider from the Shanghai-based automaker, however, acknowledged that the automaker was really in talks with BMW about their cooperation in the high-grade field.
But the details remain unknown, for there is a large amount of uncertainty in their cooperation, he added. In fact, the move will mark SAIC's third attempt to join hands with BMW, told the insider.
