Bank of China Q3 net profit increases

Nov 02, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- BACHF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Bank of China has reported a net profit of RMB21.9 billion, or RMB0.09 per share, for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009, compared to RMB17.89 billion, or RMB0.07 per diluted share, for the same quarter of 2008.

For the third quarter of 2009, net interest income was RMB40.89 billion, compared to RMB40.73 billion for the same quarter of 2008. Operating income was RMB60.91 billion, compared to RMB58.64 billion for the same quarter of 2008.

For the first nine months of 2009, net profit was RMB65.25 billion, or RMB0.25 per share, compared to RMB62.53 billion, or RMB0.24 per share, for the same period of 2008. Net interest income was RMB115.61 billion, compared to RMB122.25 billion for the first nine months of 2008. Operating income was RMB168.76 billion, compared to RMB177.51 billion for the first nine months of 2008.
