PowerRating -- 11/2/2009 - GTx, Inc. (NASDAQ:GTXI) shares fell 35% after the company announced that it has received a Complete Response Letter issued by the FDA regarding the company's New Drug Application for toremifene 80 mg to reduce fractures in men with prostate cancer that are receiving androgen deprivation therapy. The FDA identified two deficiencies in the response letter and recommended that the company provide results of a safety and efficacy trial and results from a trial that proves the treatment reduces fractures in men with prostate cancer and that the drug does not have a detrimental effect on time-to-disease progression or overall survival.
