SUR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- CNA Surety, an insurance holding company, has reported a net income for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 of $25.5 million, or $0.57 per diluted share, compared to $34.3 million, or $0.78 per diluted share, for the third quarter ended September 30, 2008.

Total revenues for the third quarter of 2009 were $123.29 million, compared to $121.3 million for the third quarter of 2008.

For the first nine months ended September 30, 2009, net income was $68.6 million, or $1.54 per diluted share, compared to $81.3 million, or $1.84 per diluted share, for the first nine months ended September 30, 2008.

For the first nine months of 2009, total revenues were $354.85 million versus $355.9 million for the comparable period of 2008.
