Yahoo! offers open source version of Traffic Server for builders of cloud services
YHOO | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Internet company Yahoo! Inc (Nasdaq:YHOO) on Monday introduced an open
source version of Traffic Server, an application server for builders of
cloud services.
According to Yahoo this is its second major step in five months towards
open-source cloud computing, following the first Yahoo! Distribution of
Hadoop in June 2009.
Traffic Server enables session management, authentication,
configuration management, load balancing and routing for an entire
cloud computing stack.
Yahoo! has donated the Traffic Server code to The Apache Software
Foundation through the Apache Incubator.
