Richard H. Melicharek, 47, of Tamaqua, was sentenced to spend five days to 18 months in prison with immediate parole, pay costs, $150 in fines, a $50 CJEA payment, $50 bench warrant fee and $70 restitution to Lehigh Coal & Navigation Co., and perform 20 hours community service.
Melicharek pleaded guilty on Sept. 4 to theft, receiving stolen property, conspiracy and defiant trespass, crimes Tamaqua police alleged he committed on June 14, 2008, in the borough.
Joseph R. Achenbach Jr., 57, of Saint Clair, will spend 48 hours to six months in prison and pay costs, $525 in fines, $100 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund and $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street under the terms of Domalakes' sentence.
In a one-day nonjury trial on Sept. 17, Domalakes convicted Achenbach of driving under the influence and careless driving. Saint Clair police had charged him with committing those crimes on Nov. 1 in the borough.
Gary J. Laporte Jr., 43, of Halifax, Va., has to serve six months on probation and pay costs, $325 in fines and a $100 SAEF payment, Domalakes ruled.
Laporte pleaded guilty on Sept. 4 to DUI and failure to drive on the right side, crimes Pine Grove police charged him with committing on Jan. 4 in the borough.
John C. Russen, 20, of Shenandoah, must return to prison for the balance of his term, plus serve an additional 12 months on probation, after Domalakes revoked his parole and imposed a new sentence.
Russen originally pleaded guilty on Nov.. 25 to simple assault, which state police at Schuylkill Haven charged him with committing on Jan. 13, 2008, and defiant trespass and harassment, which Minersville police charged him with committing on April 14, 2008, in the borough. Domalakes sentenced him to 23 months probation and payment of costs, $100 in CJEA payments, $50 bench warrant fee and $893 restitution.
Prosecutors dropped two additional harassment and two additional criminal mischief charges against Russen.
Domalakes revoked his probation on May 26 and sentenced him to three to 23 months in prison.
