Tickets for the 7 p.m. contest between the Seahawks and Crusaders are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Fans can purchase them by logging onto www.UNCWsports.com, calling 910-962-3233, or visiting the UNCW Athletic Ticket Office in Trask Coliseum from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Townsend-Eaves tandem leads Pro-Scratch with a 64
Local golfers Mike Townsend and Chris Eaves blistered the Eagle Point Golf Club in cool conditions to take a commanding four-shot lead after the first round of the TaylorMade Carolinas Pro-Scratch.
Townsend, a pro from Eagle Point, and Eaves, an amateur from Burgaw, made seven birdies, an eagle and one bogey in an 8-under-par 64. There are five teams in second place, including Billy Anderson and Walker Taylor of Wilmington and River Landing assistant Paul Dickens and amateur Brian Gauley.
Eagle Point member Cameron MacPhail made a hole-in-one on the 167-yard par-3, No. 2. He used a 7-iron.
The final round is Tuesday with tee times from 9:30-11:30 a.m. off No. 1 and No. 10.
