No staff cuts, relocations or changes at the top of the 1,900 Carlson Marketing staff are planned. About half of Carlson Marketing's employees work in the Twin Cities. The deal is to close in early December.
Hubert Joly, Carlson's chief executive, said in a statement that this is good news for the employees and customers of Carlson Marketing and a great opportunity for Groupe Aeroplan.
"It also frees up resources for Carlson that the company can deploy to accelerate the growth of its hotel, restaurant, and travel businesses at a time when significant opportunities exist in these markets," Joly said.
Carlson Marketing designs and delivers loyalty, engagement and event programs to global brands in sectors including financial services, automotive, high tech, consumer packaged goods and pharmaceutical. Groupe Aeroplan is a publicly held company that owns Aeroplan, Canada's premier loyalty program, and operates a range of loyalty programs around the world.
