The Q3 net loss was less than in Q2 but more than in Q3 of 2008, which were 8.2 million and 1.1 million dollars respectively.
The company's Q3 net revenue amounted to 20.5 million dollars, higher than the company's estimate, which was 18 million to 20 million dollars. It grew from the 18.7 million dollars in Q2, thanks to the recovery in world demand, which drove up the company's sales of processors for electronic notebook cameras by 54 percent quarter on quarter.
However, Q3 net revenue was lower than the 24.9 million of the same period of last year.
For the fourth quarter of this year, Vimicro estimates its revenue to reach 23 million to 25 million dollars, representing a quarter on quarter increase of 12 percent to 22 percent.
