There are too many rumors about Kaixin001.com, said an executive for Qiming Venture Partners, one of the shareholders of the SNS site. Thus, the executive made no comment on the saying.
Earlier, Chen Tong, executive vice president and chief editor of SINA, reportedly had stakes in Kaixin001.com. However, Cheng Binghao, chief executive officer of Kaixin001.com, denied the rumor.
Kaixin001.com was founded by Cheng Binghao in March 2008. Cheng once was acting chief technology officer of SINA.
The site announced on July 27, 2009 that its registered users had hit 40 million and daily newly-added registered users had touched 200,000.
It wins the favor of youngsters on the day of its birth. Traditional media operators have noticed the phenomenon and begin making full use of the site's function to broadcast information.
