Seitz takes up the job immediately, reporting to Jonathan Turner, chief executive of Brit Reinsurance.
With more than 20 years of experience in reinsurance, Seitz joins Brit from Swiss Re, where he was head of the Munich retrocession team. Before that, he held a number of positions with Swiss Re and Frankona/GE Insurance Solutions.
"Reinhard has an excellent reputation in our industry as a reinsurance buyer with an exceptional grasp of the issues affecting the sector," said Turner in a statement. "He is a well-respected and well-known figure in the London market and internationally, and his appointment is a major boost to the group's risk management and risk mitigation capabilities."
Brit Insurance Ltd. currently has a Best's Financial Strength Rating of A (Excellent).
