BRIEF: Journal Broadcast executive to retire

Nov 04, 2009 (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- JRN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Ron Kurtis, senior vice president and chief financial officer for the Journal Broadcast Group, a division of Journal Communications (JRN), announced on Wednesday that he will retire effective Dec. 27.

Doug Kiel, vice chairman and CEO of Journal Communications, said: "Ron has been an integral member of our leadership team and I have truly valued his knowledge of the industry and financial guidance as we have grown our broadcast group. He leaves our company with our thanks and appreciation for a job well done and our hope that he will enjoy his retirement."

Kiel also is retiring at the end of the year.

Journal Broadcast Group owns and operates 33 radio stations and 13 television stations in 12 states and operates an additional television station under a local marketing agreement. It is the broadcast division of Journal Communications Inc., which also publishes the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and operates JSOnline.
