In a release, the Company noted that fully compliant with the DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) and DICOM-RT standard, ImageGrid PACS-RT substantially accelerates the retrieval and routing speeds of data and images between Radiation Therapy and Oncology facilities and the referring physician.
"Cutting-edge innovations in Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) have propelled image management, review and treatment approval into the spotlight of oncology care," said Holger Schmidt, CEO Oncology Care Systems (OCS). "The ImageGrid RT-PACS and ImageGrid RT Viewer enhance OCS established product offerings to provide oncologists, as well as staff at cancer centers, additional flexibility with immediate access to data and images from any workstation, which in turn enables the realization of the full potential of technologies such as Adaptive Targeting."
The ImageGrid PACS-RT Appliance also provides a scalable and highly cost-effective storage solution to accommodate a growing need to archive the volume of image and data files being generated by high-resolution imaging technology. "This is an innovative solution which has already found considerable success within Radiation Therapy and Oncology and is in use at over 50 cancer centers," said Alex Razmjoo, CEO, Candelis, Inc. "The ImageGrid PACS-RT and ImageGrid RT Viewer represent a paradigm shift in radiation therapy image and data archiving and visualization and we are pleased that Siemens will be offering it to its customers."
Candelis is a medical informatics company that develops, manufactures and markets RIS/PACS and PACS-RT appliances, with applications in Radiation Therapy and Oncology, General Radiology and Mammography.
