Federal Signal Names Daniel Hickey Director of Government Relations

Nov 05, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- FSS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Federal Signal Corp., a provider of advancing security and well-being for communities and workplaces, announced that Daniel J. Hickey has been appointed Director of Government Relations, effective immediately.

Hickey will be responsible for strengthening Federal Signal's government and regulatory relations efforts. Based in Washington, D.C., Hickey will continue to build relationships with Members of Congress and their staffs, as well as the federal agencies most important to Federal Signal's businesses. Hickey will report to Jennifer Sherman, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, General Counsel and Secretary of Federal Signal.

"Over the course of his 15-year career, Dan has developed comprehensive expertise in the transportation industry, and Intelligent Transport Systems in particular, and has an insider's knowledge of how federal policy is drafted and enacted. I am confident his deep experience in government affairs and strong relationships in Washington will be an asset to our Company."

Most recently, Hickey served as the senior Oversight and Investigations minority staff member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. Prior to that he was a Senior Government Relations Advisor for King & Spalding LLC. From 2004-2007, Hickey served as the Federal Aviation Administration's Deputy Assistant Administrator for Government & Industry Affairs, and then as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs at the Department of Transportation. He was Director of Government Affairs for US Airways from 2003-2004 and Director of Federal Affairs for the Air Transport Association of America from 2001-2003. He also served as a Legislative Assistant in the United States Senate. Hickey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Boston College.
