American Airlines reports October load factor up 4.0 points to 83.1%

PowerRating -- American Airlines, a subsidiary of AMR Corp (NYSE:AMR), announced on
Wednesday that it carried 7,122,518 passengers in October 2009, down
4.2% compared to the same period of last year.
Revenue passenger miles fell by 2.6% compared to October 2008, while
available seat miles dropped by 7.3%, resulting in an increase in load
factor of 4.0 percentage points at 83.1%.
Cargo ton miles for October 2009 decreased by 5.5% compared to the same
month last year.
