The brand value of SK Telecom Co. (KSE:017670), South Korea's leading mobile carrier, ranked 24th in the world with US$2.14 billion this year, up from US$1.77 billion a year ago, according to Brand Finance, a global consulting firm.
KT Corp. (KSE:030200), South Korea's dominant fixed-line operator and No. 2 mobile carrier, came at 34th with US$1.55 billion, the London-based consultancy said.
Britain's Vodafone ranked first with US$24.65 billion, trailed by AT&T and Verizon of the United States with US$19.85 billion and US$18.85 billion, respectively, Hong Kong's China Mobile (SEHK:0941) with US$17.2 billion and France's Orange with US$16.8 billion.
