This was a 1.3% decline over total sales of USD1.714bn in October 2008.
For the third quarter of 2009 total sales were USD5.276bn, down by 3.9% as compared with total sales of USD5.493bn in the corresponding quarter of the prior year.
Also, for the year to date period sales totalled USD15.639bnm a 7.8% decrease over total sales of USD16.958bn in the corresponding year-to-date period of the prior year.
The company said that on a same-store basis sales were down by 0.8%, 3.6% and 7.5% for October, the quarter and the year-to-date period, respectively.
