The long-term AA- rating is considered investment grade and is associated with "very low" risk of default and a "very strong" debt servicing capacity. Besides, Fitch's F1+ is its top short-term rating and implies an extremely strong ability to service obligations.
Fitch noted that the long-term rating reflects the higher of the ratings set to Montgomery County Higher Education and Health Authority's hospital revenue bonds series A of 2009 (Abington Memorial Hospital Obligated Group) deposited in the trust and the custody level credit enhancement provided by Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) securing the custodial receipts deposited in the trust. The respective ratings are A and AA-/F1+.
In addition, the short-term rating takes into account the liquidity facility provided by the US bank. It will be valid until the facility's expiry, originally scheduled for 15 October 2010, or until earlier termination.
