Eagles' Stewart Bradley, Cornelius Ingram making progress with injury rehab

Nov 06, 2009 (The Morning Call - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- NAHC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Two injured Eagles who are rarely seen during open locker room sessions reported encouraging news about their recoveries Thursday at the NovaCare Complex.

Linebacker Stewart Bradley and tight end Cornelius Ingram, who each underwent surgery to repair torn anterior cruciate ligaments suffered in the preseason, are making excellent progress with their rehabilitation work.

"Honestly, [Bradley] can play right now," Ingram marveled. "There's times where if we're doing a certain drill, he might want to go full speed and [trainer] Rick [Burkholder] would have to ask us to calm down. But he's just a great guy to be around, big-time competitor at everything that we're doing, so it helps out a lot with me.

"... I think I might be ahead of schedule. The knee feels good. I'm happy where I'm at right now. I know I'm definitely getting better every day with what we're doing."

Bradley also believes rehabbing with his teammate is beneficial to both.

"It's always good to have somebody to go through it with," he said. "If you can keep it competitive, then someone's pushing you. I feel pretty good. It's hard work every day. I feel like I'm progressing, so that's what's important right now."

Cowboy harmony: Quintin Mikell had an interesting take on the state of the Cowboys, whom the Eagles face Sunday night, since wide receiver Terrell Owens has moved on to Buffalo.

"It's always like as soon as he leaves, Miles Austin steps up and he's kind of the big playmaker guy now," the Eagles' safety said. "I feel like it makes them better as a team because you don't have a guy that wants the ball every play, one guy that you can key on. Now [QB Tony Romo is ] spreading the ball around to different guys and they're running the ball more and everyone is happy. Now it's a team that just wants to win, and that's more dangerous than anything."

But Mikell apparently hasn't been paying enough attention to see that Roy Willliams has stepped into Owens' role without the Cowboys losing a beat.

Williams told ESPNDallas.com that he's not happy. Not happy at all.

"He gets the ball thrown correctly his way," Williams said of Austin. "I'm stretching and falling and doing everything."

Williams also said his chemistry with Romo is "just not even close. It's not even funny. Not even close."

Transit strike advisory: The Eagles are encouraging fans who take public transit to the game to plan for an earlier-than-usual arrival or use carpools due to the strike. The parking lots open at 1 p.m. for the 8:20 p.m. kickoff.

Injury update: Linebacker Chris Gocong (quadriceps, hamstring) and wide receiver Kevin Curtis (knee) were the only players not to participate at all in Thursday's practice. Defensive end Victor Abiamiri (knee) and defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley (knee) were cleared for limited duty.
