The victims were identified as Parimal Karmakar, 35, a guard of Govt. Ideal Primary School in Mohammadpur and Abdus Salam, a night guard of Kadamtali area.
Police and witnesses said a gang of a four snatchers tried to snatch money and other valuables from Parimal in Tajmahal road area under Mohammadpur thana at about 9:15pm. ?As he tried to resist them, the gang shot at him,? says a spot account of the incident.
Parimal with bullet wounds was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
In another incident, three terrorists attacked and stabbed Salam indiscriminately while on duty in Balurmath area of Kadamtali at about 4am, leaving him injured critically.
He was rescued and admitted to the DMCH after the predawn attack. He succumbed to his fatal injuries at about 6pm.
Reason for the killing could not be known immediately.
