NRG Energy acquires offshore wind power company Bluewater Wind

NRG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Power generation group NRG Energy Inc (NYSE:NRG) reported on Monday
that it has purchased offshore wind development company Bluewater Wind
for an undisclosed sum.

The business was acquired from Australian investment firm Babcock &
Brown and US-based wind power developer Arcadia Windpower Holdings LLC.

Bluewater is currently working on several offshore projects in the
northeastern United States, including sites at an advanced stage of
development in Delaware and New Jersey. It has a 25-year power purchase
agreement with Delmarva Power & Light Company that has been approved by
the authorities in Delaware.
