Lonza signs manufacturing agreement with GlaxoSmithKline and Genmab for Arzerra(TM)

LZAGF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Lonza Group, Ltd., a Switzerland-based supplier of pharmaceutical active ingredients to the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and life science industries, has signed an agreement with GlaxoSmithKline plc ( GSK | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) and Genmab A/S for the manufacturing of Arzerra(TM), a monoclonal antibody approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

GSK is a UK-based pharmaceutical and healthcare company, while Genmab is a Denmark-based biotechnology company.

Under the terms of the agreement, Lonza will carryout a program of process development and cGMP manufacturing services for Arzerra. Lonza will supply Arzerra drug substance to GSK under the terms of a long-term supply agreement.
