RJET | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Airline holding company Republic Airways Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:RJET)
said on Tuesday that it is increasing its presence in Milwaukee and
adding up to 800 full-time jobs in the city.
The company is planning to increase its levels of local employment for
flight crews, heavy aircraft maintenance & technical support and call
centre reservations.
As a result of Republic's investment, preservation of more than 700
local jobs and further job creation in Milwaukee, the company is
eligible to receive up to USD27m in tax credits through to the end of
2021.
Earlier this year Republic acquired Milwaukee-based Midwest Airlines,
which has just announced two new nonstop services from Milwaukee's
General Mitchell International Airport. The flights to Raleigh-Durham
and San Francisco are scheduled to start in April 2010.
