Tencent Holdings Q3 Online Game Revenue Rose 23.2%
TCTZF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Tencent Holdings Limited (SEHK: 0700) achieved consolidated revenues of CNY 3.3689 billion in the third quarter of 2009, up 66.4% year on year and 17% quarter on quarter, the leading Chinese provider of IM and Internet value-added services announced in its unaudited financial report today.
In detail, the company gained a revenue of CNY 2.6226 billion from Internet value-added services, increasing 87.3% from a year ago and 21.6% from a quarter ago; a revenue of CNY 446.2 million from mobile and telecommunications value-added services, hiking 19.8% year on year but reducing 5.1% quarter on quarter; and a revenue of CNY 293.6 million from online advertising, escalating 17.9% year on year and 20.8% quarter on quarter.
In particular, its online game revenue rose 23.2% from a quarter ago to CNY 1.5287 billion, driven by the revenue growth in its major games like Cross Fire, Dungeon and Fighter (DNF), QQ Dancer, and QQ Speed.
