Kingfisher Airlines to withdraw Jamshedpur service
TATLY | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- India's Kingfisher Airlines said on Wednesday that it is suspending its
service between Kolkata and Jamshedpur from Sunday.
This decision follows notification from Tata Steel Ltd of a reduction
in the runway length and changes in the approach parameters, with
conversion of Jamshedpur Airport from category 3C to 2C.
The shorter runway will restrict the number of passengers that can be
carried, while the new approach parameters will mean revised conditions
and visibility requirements. As a result of these newly imposed
technical restrictions it will no longer be viable to continue to
operate flights to Jamshedpur Airport, Kingfisher said.
