DJ Anglo American: Phaswana To Step Down From Board Of Directors
AAUKY | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Anglo American PLC (AAL.LN) Friday said Tshamano "Fred" Phaswana will step down from the miner's board of directors to focus on his new role as chairman at Standard Bank Group Ltd. (SBK.JO).
Africa's largest lender by assets earlier said Phaswana has agreed to take over the role of chairman when Derek Cooper steps down in May.
Phaswana will serve on Anglo's board until Jan. 1, 2010.
Anglo earlier this week appointed Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (RBS) Chairman Philip Hampton to its board of directors as it looks to "refresh" non-executive leadership.
Anglo board member Karel van Miert passed away in June, and Rob Margetts and Chris Fay are scheduled to retire from Anglo's board at the company's next annual general meeting in April 2010.
