Alcatel-Lucent wins China Eastern Airlines contract

EALN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Telecoms equipment company Alcatel-Lucent's Chinese subsidiary Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell has won a contract from China Eastern Airlines (CE) to transform its IP contact center platform.

Under the contract, the company will provide its e-business IP-based solution that will improve CE's work efficiency and internal process management. It will provide OmniGenesys Contact Center to help CE upgrade its existing contact center system to an IP e-Business platform. It will also ensure the integration between its OmniPCX Enterprise Communication Server IP platform and its OmniGenesys interactions applications, which offer inbound and outbound dynamic routing.

Additionally, Alcatel-Lucent will use its VitalSuite Performance Management Software to manage and monitor the whole solution from the network to the application layer. It will also provide its external linkGenesys Voice Platform (GVP) and linkGenesys Workforce Management application.

Olivia Qiu, president at Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell and Alcatel-Lucent in East Asia, said: "Through the transformation of CE's communications platform, we will help them interconnect networks, people, processes and knowledge. Committed to innovation, partnering and results, we are determined to improve the platform's performance and productivity while supporting a richer user experience."

Earlier this week, Alcatel-Lucent won a $12m contract from Bechtel, an engineering, construction, and project management company, for the deployment of a fully integrated telecommunications infrastructure to support onshore and offshore operations of Angola LNG Limited's new plant in the Republic of Angola. Alcatel-Lucent and Thales also won a contract from Beijing MTR Corp to provide a turnkey signalling solution for the Daxing line metro project.
