flydubai contracts Goodrich for wheels and brakes for new Boeing 737s
GR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Goodrich Corporation (NYSE:GR) announced on Monday that flydubai has
selected its Aircraft Wheels and Brakes business to provide wheels and
carbon brakes for the carrier's new fleet of 54 Boeing Next-Generation
737-800 aircraft.
According to Goodrich this contract could generate revenues of up to
USD22m over the life of the agreement, including aftermarket support.
The wheels and carbon brakes will utilise Goodrich's proprietary
DURACARB carbon material, providing weight savings of around 700lbs per
aircraft compared to high capacity steel brakes and 550lbs compared to
standard capacity steel brakes.
Aircraft deliveries with the Goodrich wheel and brake equipment are
scheduled to start in March 2010 and continue through to 2013.
